An artist and a committed feminist - and now wife of a Yemeni man 22 years younger than herself: this is the story of Barbara Wally.
Two years ago, the now 61-year-old longtime director of the Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg converted to Islam and lives partly inYemen and in Salzburg. The film presents Barbara Wally as a woman between two worlds, and discusses the challenges of a life in both East and West, a daily routine between strictly religious and “open”, between Yemen reality and feminist engagement.
